GREENFIELD — One of the most vocal advocates for change in promoting local tourism has been removed from the Hancock County Tourism Commission.

Mayor Dick Pasco removed Ellen Fischer from the panel and appointed Kelly McClarnon to replace her.

Pasco said the move was related to a complicated state statute about the political makeup of the board and had nothing to do with Fisher’s role in recent discussions about spending to promote tourism in the county. She has been a critic of some of the strategies.
