Dozens of Hancock County children were treated to a shopping spree during the weekend courtesy of local law enforcement officers. The Greenfield Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff’s Department hold holiday charity programs each year, targeting needy families who might not otherwise have the means to buy their children Christmas presents. Between the two programs, more than 60 children hit the aisles of Wal-Mart in Greenfield last weekend, filling their carts with hundreds of dollars of clothes and toys. The programs are both donation-funded and accept contributions year round. Cops 4 Kids donations may be sent to the Greenfield Police Department, 116 S. State St., Greenfield. Shop with a Deputy donations may be sent to the sheriff’s department, 123 E. Main St., Greenfield.
