GREENFIELD — If there was one thing officials at Hancock Regional Hospital learned while filming a video to raise breast cancer awareness, it was that the disease affects just about everybody.

“Everywhere we went, there was a breast cancer story,” said Lisa Wood, the hospital’s team leader for diagnostic imaging services.

The hospital involved dozens of community members in this year’s video for the “Pink Glove Dance.” A national movement that has gained steam over the last two years, the annual competition asks health care organizations to film videos with signature pink surgical gloves to raise awareness for the disease that affects millions of women each year.

The videos are submitted to the Pink Glove Dance website and then posted to Facebook where the public can vote for their favorite one. The three organizations whose videos receive the most votes are awarded a cash prize to donate to a breast cancer charity of their choice.
