GREENFIELD — While it arguably might not be at the top of their list of places to visit, Joe and Deborah Whitesitt were certainly happy to see the new Hancock Cancer Care center open its doors Tuesday.
“It’s awesome,” said Joe as he and Deborah were leaving the center Tuesday afternoon. “It’s so much more convenient and so much better than driving to Indianapolis.”
Joe, who has been receiving chemotherapy treatments for several years in Indianapolis, wrapped up his therapy there recently, but it was much easier driving Deborah over from Henry County for her appointment Tuesday rather than making the three-hour round trip into the city.
“You’re dragging anyway,” Deborah said of a chemo patient’s condition during treatment. “This is so much better. Plus, we know everyone here.”
