Greenfield in Bloom work day
GREENFIELD — Greenfield in Bloom has a workday scheduled for 1 p.m. March 28.
Anyone interested in helping to plant pansy flowers around downtown or help in the rain garden south of the city building, is invited to join this group at the Greenfield Christian Church parking lot near downtown.
Student art will be displayed in D.C.
Washington — U. S. Congressman Luke Messer invites all high school students, grades 9 through 12, to enter their best artwork into the 2013 Congressional Art Competition. The winning pieces will be displayed in the Cannon tunnel of the U. S. Capitol building for a full year. Southwest Airlines is providing two round-trip tickets for the Sixth Congressional District winner and a parent to attend a reception honoring the winning artists in Washington, D.C., in mid-June.
The competition encompasses seven categories: paintings, drawings, collages, prints, mixed media, computer-generated art and photography.
Guidelines are posted online under Services at www.mes ser.house.gov. Competition guidelines and a release form can be obtained by contacting Congressman Messer’s Muncie office at (765) 747-5566, or by contacting Messer’s Director of Constituent Services, Kim Bennett, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadline for artwork submissions is April 19.
