Still under investigation: Officers move a Harley-Davidson motorcycle belonging to Greenfield police Patrolman Justin Thomas out of a Hancock County ditch. Thomas was off duty and northbound on Fortville Pike near Ind. 234 when his motorcycle ran off the east side of the road around 1:30 p.m. Monday. Thomas was alert and talking when emergency responders arrived. He did not appear to have suffered serious injuries, police said at the scene. Skid marks show the path where the motorcycle left the roadway, but police said they did not have details about what led to the accident, which remains under investigation. Police said they were not sure whether Thomas was wearing a helmet.
