GREENFIELD — When the Rev. Mike Manning stepped to the podium Monday morning, he posed a question: How do you start a funeral service held at Christmastime?

It was a question with no easy answer for those who gathered at Brandywine Community Church to mourn the loss of Mayor Dick Pasco, who died last week from cancer at age 66.
