GREENFIELD — When it comes to swimming in the Hoosier State, there aren’t many men who possess the state-wide experience of Tom Moore.
Following a successful high school career at Martinsville High School, Moore became a five-time scorer at the Mid-American Conference Meet at Ball State. After assistant coaching stints at Center Grove (one season) and Hamilton Southeastern (four seasons), in 2005 Moore arrived in Greenfield as the new head coach of the Cougars’ swimming and diving programs.
Now, after back-to-back boys’ Hoosier Heritage Conference and sectional championships, Moore is moving on. He will start his new job as director of aquatics at Pike High School in Indianapolis on May 25 after being approved by the Metropolitan School District of Pike Township school board on May 10. Moore submitted his letter of resignation to Greenfield-Central High School principal Steve Bryant Monday morning.
