Man sentenced for inappropriate contact with teen

GREENFIELD — A 41-year-old Greenfield man who cultivated a sexual relationship with his son’s teenage girlfriend has pleaded guilty to two felony charges.

Kevin Fisher was sentenced to six years in prison after pleading guilty to child solicitation, a Class C felony; and vicarious sexual gratification, a Class D felony, according to court records.

That sentence was part of a plea agreement with the Hancock County prosecutor’s office.

Fisher will receive credit for some time he has already served. According to court records, he remained in jail from  June 11 to Jan. 9.

Police began investigating Fisher in mid-April after his son found nude photos of his then-girlfriend and sexually explicit text messages in his father’s cellphone, according to court records.

Fisher, who was charged at the time with six counts of child pornography in addition to the other charges, denied having a relationship with the girl.

In an interview with police, he said his son frequently used his phone and was likely responsible for the messages and photos, court records state.

Investigators in turn obtained Fisher’s cellphone records. A 20-page probable cause affidavit supporting criminal charges against Fisher detailed dozens of text message between Fisher and the girl, who clearly knew she was addressing her boyfriend’s father, police said.

The girl told investigators the contact with Fisher was consensual, but by Indiana law, the girl is not old enough to consent.

Fisher, who pleaded guilty Thursday in Hancock Circuit Court,  has been ordered to have no contact with the girl, according to court records.
