Casey Dodd has stepped down as the Mt. Vernon girls soccer head coach after eight seasons.
Dodd and his wife have a 15-month-old child, their first, and he cited that as motiviation for resigning.
“The decision was not an easy one because of how much this program means to me,” he said. “Still, my family is the most important thing to me and I want to be able to dedicate the necessary time to being a good husband and dad.”
Dodd’s teams averaged over 10 wins per season and he finished with an 83-51-3 record. The Marauders went 12-5 this fall and won the first Hoosier Heritage Conference title in program history. New Palestine edged the Marauders 5-4 (3-2 PK) in the sectional semifinals.
