GREENFIELD — Maybe it’s the weather, but a lot of folks have Florida on their mind. And Arizona isn’t far from our thoughts, either.  In the Daily Reporter’s annual polling of mostly Hancock County notables for their NCAA Basketball Tourney Final 4 predictions, the collegiate teams from the Sunshine and Cactus states were selected together on nearly half the ballots.

Five local “celebrities” have the Gators winning it all, with Arizona the championship choice of four voters. The only team more popular — Michigan State. Led by the ever likable Tom Izzo, the Spartans were chosen as a Final 4 team by all but seven of our participants. Six area bracketologists believe the Spartans will earn a crown. Greenfield’s Kyle Gibson has been toasty in Florida lately during MLB Spring Training, and his warm weather pick is Kentucky.
