GREENFIELD — “Hoopla” and “Boopsie” may sound more like cartoon characters than high-tech upgrades, but officials at Hancock County Public Library say the two new programs will make the library even more accessible to patrons.
Hoopla is a free digital video streaming service that will offer movies to patrons through electronic devices. Boopsie is the vendor through which the HCPL will launch its new app, so patrons can browse the shelves of the library, check on upcoming programs and reserve books at their fingertips.
While the two are not formally related to each other, the HCPL plans to launch both services around the end of October. Plans for the two programs were unveiled Tuesday at the HCPL board meeting.
