GREENFIELD — The Greenfield-Central girls basketball team had one of those nights Tuesday vs. Lebanon.

The Cougars couldn’t shoot, couldn’t box out and couldn’t stop turning the ball over — and they still almost took down one of the better Class 3A teams in Indiana.

Lebanon (3-2) defeated G-C 40-31 Tuesday in an outing devoid of plays or decisions that Greenfield coach Doug Laker nor Tigers’ coach Beth DeVinney are likely to add to their respective end-of-season highlight reels.

The two squads combined to shoot 26 percent from the floor — including 2-of-28 from 3 — allow 29 offensive rebounds and turn the ball over 39 times.
