GREENFIELD — If the genetic machines presented at the iGEM High School Jamboree hit the market, a host of problems might be solved.

The participants in the synthetic biology contest targeted issues ranging from arsenic contamination to annoying alarm clocks at Saturday’s second annual International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition at Greenfield-Central High School.
