Manager’s Musings: I like (the draw), but it doesn’t really matter, you’re going to have to face great pitching regardless of who you drew. Anytime you can shave off a game ... I’d obviously rather play two than three.” — Greenfield-Central coach Travis Keesling
Analysis: The Cougars nearly reached the sectional finals last season, dropping Anderson 14-5 in their first game before losing a heart-breaking, 1-0 decision to Richmond in 10 innings. New Castle topped G-C 3-1 on April 18, but Greenfield didn’t use any of its top three pitchers (Clark Pence, Curtiss Irving, Brendon Neal) in the outing. Luckily for the Cougars, they need only win once to advance to the finals, where they’ll likely face 4A No. 9 Pendleton Heights, a team they split with early in the season.
