The following is a list of Hancock County basketball alumni playing in college. Players are listed by current school, high school and key details.

>>Jessica Brown, Indiana Wesleyan University, Mt. Vernon. No statistics were immediately available for the freshman guard. The Wildcats are 8-0 on the season.

>>Kelsey Bryant, Taylor University, Greenfield-Central. Bryant is averaging 9.4 points and 3.9 rebounds a game for the Trojans. The junior has started all eight games this season and tallied 21 points in Taylor’s season opener against Tennessee Wesleyan College.

>>DeArmond Davis, Davenport University (Mich.), Mt. Vernon.  Davis has started all eight games for the Panthers this season and 66 in his career. The junior averaging 6.9 points and 4.5 rebounds a game while making 69.4 percent of his field goal attempts.

>>Staci Funkhouser, Indiana University at South Bend, Mt. Vernon. The junior appeared in 15 games as a freshman and 30 contests as a sophomore. Funkhouser is averaging 2.2 points per game in six games played this season.

>>P.J. Hubert, IUPUI, Mt. Vernon. Hubert is scoring 6.2 points per game while hitting 45.8 percent of his shots. The junior notched a career-high 22 points in a win over Indiana-East Monday.

>>Jared Morris, Joliet Junior College (Ill.), Greenfield-Central. Morris has tallied two points in 26 minutes played this season.

>>Bethany Murrell, Florida Gulf Coast University, New Palestine. The freshman has played in all six games for the Eagles, notching three points, three rebounds and three assists.

>>Kelsie Owens, Kishwaukee Junior College (Ill.), Mt. Vernon. Owens has appeared in six of eight games for the Kougars, scoring nine points and hauling in seven rebounds.

>>Makenzi Reasor, Indiana State University, Mt. Vernon. The freshman forward has not seen any action for the 3-2 Sycamores.

>>Jake Stafford, Marian University, Mt. Vernon. Stafford has increased his scoring average each season, going from 2.7 points per game as a freshman, 10.8 ppg last year to 12.2 ppg through six games this season. The junior is Marian’s leading rebounder, grabbing 7.8 boards per game.

>>Tori Stephenson, Danville Area Community College (Ill.), New Palestine. Stephenson has started every game at point guard for the 7-2 Jaguars, who are ranked 20th in the country. She’s averaging 3.4 points, 3.5 assists and two steals per game.

>>Daniel Turner, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Mt. Vernon. Turner has seen steady action all three seasons, but recently suffered his second knee injury in 11 months. The junior is expected to return in early January. Turner averaged a career-best 6.6 points per game as a freshman.

>>Quinn Williams, Joliet Junior College (Ill.), Mt. Vernon. Williams leads the Wolves in scoring (12.2 ppg) and is converting 42.9 percent of his 3-point attempts.

Note: The following players went to college with the intention of playing basketball but are no longer doing so: Mt. Vernon’s Anna Olson (Marian), New Palestine’s Josh Penley (IUPUI) and Eastern Hancock’s Jared Pyle (Anderson).
