GREENFIELD — Travis Keesling is heading for home.
Keesling, the Greenfield-Central baseball coach the last five seasons, will be presented to the South Madison school board Thursday for the open Pendleton Heights varsity baseball head coaching position.
If approved, Keesling will return to the school that he graduated from in 1995 after playing four years for Hall of Fame coach Bill Stoudt.
Keesling is listed by name on the South Madison board agenda for the varsity baseball coach position. Keesling and Pendleton Heights athletic director John Broughton declined to comment Monday.
G-C athletic director Kevin Horrigan anticipates accepting resumes for the Cougars’ coaching position quickly.
“As soon as it’s official, then we’ll get it posted the next day,” Horrigan said. “You’ve got fall workouts and winter workouts. In my view, I don’t want to be into January and still not have a coach.
“We’ll make a hire sooner rather than later.”
