Gleaner’s Food Bank’s mobile pantry made a stop at Riley Park in Greenfield Tuesday afternoon to distribute food to local families.

Paul Bongen, Bryan Fout and 18 other volunteers from Covance and KIPT helped unload the trucks and staff the food distribution tables. Dozens of people turned out to pick up food.

The effort was part of the kickoff for the Summer Meals for Kids program in Greenfield, which began Monday and runs Monday through Friday through July 30. Meals are served from noon to 1 p.m. at the Patricia Elmore Center, 280 N. Apple St., Greenfield. All kids 18 and under get free, hot meals.
