GREENFIELD — Two extra awards were handed out Friday at the Greenfield Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Award and Fundraising Dinner to mark significant contributions to Hancock County.
The chamber awarded two Spirit of Service awards, to Linda Gellert, superintendent for Greenfield-Central Community School Corporation; and Bobby Keen, president and CEO of Hancock Regional Hospital.
Keen and Gellert are retiring this summer.
“We actually added two awards this year because these two people have made such a huge impact in so many ways on this community, and we wanted to take the opportunity to acknowledge that,” said chamber president Retta Livengood.
In addition to the Spirit of Service awards, the chamber recognized other outstanding business people:
Businesswoman of the Year: Denna Gundrum, Penny’s Florist Shop, Inc.
Businessman of the Year: Joe Duffy, Greenfield Beverage Co.
Chamber Champion: Daily Reporter.
Ambassador of the Year: Alana Lashaway, Daily Reporter.
Nonprofit Community Service: Families United for Support and Encouragement.
Community Service: Walter H. Hiott.
Community Service: Steve Vail, Hancock Hope House.
