GREENFIELD — Preliminary fall enrollment figures do not bode well for the county’s largest school system. Greenfield-Central appears to have lost at least 43 students compared to 2012 enrollment figures.
While it is the first time in five years G-C enrollment has dropped, the rest of the county’s public school districts appear to be
gaining new students, particularly Eastern Hancock.
The county’s smallest district took in 149 transfer students at the beginning of the school year. That boosted overall enrollment by 43 students.
EH took in 63 students from G-C schools and 45 from the nearby Charles A. Beard district in Knightstown.
