G-C hall of fame nominees sought

GREENFIELD — Nominations are being now sought for the second class of the Greenfield-Central Alumni Hall of Fame.

Ten alumni were inducted last year during the Greenfield-Central School Foundation Red Letter Gala, a fundraising dinner that also served as the hall of fame kickoff.

The hall of fame was created in honor of the foundation’s 25th anniversary.

Each year, the hall of fame recognizes graduates of Greenfield schools who have gone on to do outstanding work in their career fields and communities, said foundation director Myra Bleill.

“We are just hoping really to establish the hall of fame as a recognition that would be valued by a recipient,” Bleill said, adding she received positive feedback last year.

In 2013, recipients were recognized at the gala and received a plaque with a drawing of the former Riley Elementary School, which now serves as the G-C corporate office.
