FORTVILLE — The Fortville Police Department will always do the heavy lifting when it comes to crime in town, but there is a major new opportunity for citizens to get involved and help put a stop to local wrongdoing.
Fortville Town Marshal Don Bender is hoping to get residents involved with a neighborhood watch program, a crime prevention avenue that stresses education and common sense, and teaches citizens how to help themselves by identifying and reporting suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.
