GREENFIELD — A pair of balloons tied to the mailbox, each bearing a colorful get-well message, welcomed Matt Fox back home to Greenfield this week.
On the living room wall hangs what’s left of an equally cheerful welcome-back banner. Some of the letters have fallen down, but the meaning is still clear.
Sitting in his recliner Friday afternoon, two weeks after the 30-year-old Fortville police officer was shot repeatedly during a traffic stop, a grateful Fox reflected on how good it feels to be home.
Not to mention how lucky he is to be alive.
