GREENFIELD — A local bar owner accused of pocketing money from fundraisers held at her bar also scammed the welfare system for extra cash, police say.

Charges of theft and fraud had already been filed against Michelle Livesay, 43, of New Palestine, when a recent follow-up interview helped uncover evidence Livesay collected more than $16,000 in unemployment benefits while operating the now-closed Puckers Pub in Greenfield, police said.
