The Hancock County Health Department inspects restaurants four times annually and violations are determined as “C” for critical, “NC” for noncritical and “R” for repeated violations.

Feb. 6

Pizza King #72 (Morstor, Inc.), 215 W. Broadway, Fortville. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: NC – Need to sand and paint window sill and circle rock and shelf to be cleaned. 90-120 days or next inspection.

Feb. 11

ICAP/Head Start – Greenfield Center, 311 N. Baldwin St., Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: No violations found.

Long John Silver’s, 2080 W. Main St., Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: NC – Be sure all foods are 135-140 degrees before put into warmer and 165 degrees if reheated (beans). Corrected.

Quizno’s Sub, 2045 N. State St., Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: No violations found.

Village Pantry #631, 990 S. State St., Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: No violations found.

Casey’s General Stores, Inc., 1133 E. Main St., Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: C – Need to post employee health policy. Symptoms and illnesses employees need to report. NC – Repair/replace compartment of three compartment sink. 90 days. NC – Need thermometer in reach-in cooler where sandwiches are stored for customers.

Nacho Mama’s, 222 S. Franklin, Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: C – No gloves on premises. No bare hands on ready-to-eat food. Use tongs, deli papers etc., so as not to touch. Corrected.

Penn Station East Coast Subs, 1667 N. State St., Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: C – Employee seen handling ready to eat food with bare hands. Corrected. NC – Need to have copy of code or electronic access. 90 days. NC – Food temperature measuring device shall be provided and readily accessible. 90 days. C – Need to add Norovirus to Employee Health policy and post in establishment. 90 days.

Feb. 15

Onsite Caterer Mobile Unit, 4312 W. 1175N, New Palestine. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: No violations found.

That Fun Place LLC, 1618 N. State St., Greenfield. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: No violations found.

Feb. 19

El Jaripeo, 38 W. Main St., New Palestine. Type of inspection: Routine. Violations: C – Uncovered foods in cooler. Corrected. NC – All tableware presented so handles touched. Corrected. C – All chemicals transferred out of main container must be marked. Corrected. NC – Clean knives then store in wall unit. Do not put soiled knives in storage unit with clean knives. Corrected. C – Cooler in prep area 50 degrees. All potentially hazardous foods (PHF) meat, etc., discarded. Others iced. Repair and do not use. Corrected, food discarded.
