Firefighters responded to a structure fire on the county’s northeast side around 5:15 p.m. Sunday after a brush fire got out of control. When emergency responders arrived, an out building on the property in the 9100 block of East CR 900N in Wilkinson was engulfed in flames. The owner was burning a brush pile, which spread to the building, firefighters said. Firefighters from Wilkinson, Charlottesville, Shirley and Adams Township (of Madison County) responded to the fire. Firefighters had the blaze under control within about a half hour. No one was injured.
