CHARLOTTESVILLE — Eastern Hancock’s baseball team has the state’s leading home run hitter.

It also has three very capable pitchers and a six-man senior class determined to go out on a very high note.

And most importantly, the Royals head into the final week of the regular season with momentum after a slow start and would like to keep that up as they approach the Class 2A-Sectional 41 at Centerville next week. EH drew Knightstown (1-18) — a team they defeated 14-0 back on April 14 — as its first-round foe.

EH ended the weekend having won four of its last five, all being Saturday doubleheader sweeps, before losing to Northeastern on Monday. The Royals took two Saturday from the Indianapolis Kings home-school team, 6-4 and 5-3, after sweeping Daleville the week before.
