GREENFIELD — A special prosecutor has been asked to handle the criminal case against a sheriff’s deputy who was arrested last weekend after a fight with a woman he had been dating.
Scott Roeger, 33, is charged with residential entry, criminal mischief and intimidation.
According to police reports, Roeger entered the locked McCordsville home of a woman he’d been dating at around 2 a.m. Sunday and became angry when he found another man there.
Roeger, who was off duty at the time, punched a hole in a bedroom door and also hit a number of glass-framed portraits hanging on the walls, breaking the glass and lacerating his hand, according to police reports.
The woman told police she and Roeger had a tumultuous relationship and that she had not been spending as much time with him in recent weeks.
She said the man at her home was just a friend who had been visiting.
