GREENFIELD — The Hancock County coroner was arrested Friday amid allegations she stole $100 worth of toys she planned to give to her children for Christmas.

Crystel Myers, 30, of Greenfield, is charged with theft, a Class D felony carrying a penalty range of six months to three years and up to $10,000 in fines.

The case centers on the theft of two $50 toy monster trucks from Wal-Mart in Greenfield.

Myers was arrested at her apartment Friday afternoon. She posted a $1,000 cash bond and was released from the Hancock County Jail shortly after 8 p.m. Friday.

It is the second time someone holding the county coroner position has been arrested in less than two years.
