GREENFIELD — GasAmerica, a family-owned business that traces its Hancock County roots back almost a century, is being sold to one of the Midwest’s largest convenience store chains.

Speedway LLC, a subsidiary of Marathon Petroleum Co., will acquire all 88 GasAmerica stores in Indiana and Ohio, the companies announced Friday. As many as 50 local employees could lose their jobs when the deal is finalized. Officials expect to complete the sale in May.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
