CASA Training class

ANDERSON – East Central Indiana Court Appointed Special Advocates will begin a new training class in Hancock County for child advocate volunteers Thursday, Feb. 28, at Park Chapel Church.

The complete training includes 30 hours of classroom education in addition to courtroom observation time. Volunteers must be at least age 21 and be subject to a full police and child welfare background check.

CASA volunteers are the voice in the court for abused and neglected children. Volunteers are trained to advocate, evaluate, and monitor a child’s case, and to make recommendations to the judge with respect to what is in the best interest of the child.

For questions or to apply, contact Sonia Redmon at (317) 477-0034 or Myra Rose at 765-649-7215; or email CASA at eastcentralindiana casa@yahoo.com.
