GREENFIELD — Greenfield-Central’s boys basketball team again thought it had a victory in the bag Friday night after building a double-digit lead at halftime.

But for the second straight week, the bottom of the bag broke open before the Cougars could clinch their first win of the year.

G-C saw as brilliant a first half as it could play become moot, relinquishing a 33-10 first-half advantage and falling to Yorktown in overtime 57-56.

Caleb Morey dribbled from deep in the backcourt around the Cougar defense with three seconds to go and found room to launch a three-point shot at the horn. It found nothing but net, giving the Tigers their only lead of the night.
