GREENFIELD — Pink is probably not the first color that comes to mind when thinking about an auto shop, but Jenkins Auto Repair Professionals in Greenfield is wholly in the pink for Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Through Oct. 31, Jenkins will join more than 60 repair shops nationwide in the Brakes for Breasts campaign to benefit Dr. Vincent Tuohy’s research into a breast cancer vaccine at the Cleveland Clinic.
“This is a great program,” said Phil Jenkins. “I get to do a ton of brake jobs, and the customers get free brake pads or shoes with a lifetime warranty.”
As of Oct. 1, Jenkins said 63 auto shops across the country had signed on for the campaign, which was started two years ago in Medina, Ohio.
The program is simple. Jenkins will offer free brake pads or shoes along with a lifetime warranty on them, and the customer pays for labor and any incidental parts and charges, with 10 percent of the service being donated to Tuohy’s research.
