A bright future: Chris Edwards sits with his son, Ben, 2, who survived a brain tumor. Edwards decided to to donate the royalties from his second book to the doctors who operated on Ben. The boy was given only a 20 percent chance of surviving the rare condition. Ben is now a year in remission. (Photo provided)
NEW PALESTINE — Just a few short months ago, New Palestine’s Chris Edwards was trying to make it through the worst time in his life.
Now, with a healthy family by his side, Edwards is on the brink of publishing his second book.
In early 2011, Edwards was coming to grips with the reality his youngest son, Ben, had a life-threatening brain tumor.
As a world history teacher at Fishers High School in Noblesville and a published author, Edwards wasn’t about to close his mind to the possibility Ben would survive, despite long odds.
