GREENFIELD — Refreshments of Oreo-laced cream cheese, pink cupcakes with sprinkles and punch greeted the arrivals Friday at Greenfield’s Memorial Building gymnasium as they signed in. Most were wearing new dresses and shoes for the evening, sporting fresh coiffures and being escorted proudly – by their dads.
It was Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department’s “Daddy Daughter Date Night 2013,” and the joint was jumping with 50 couples, five over the allotted maximum of 45.
“We’ve been doing this since 2004, and it’s at maximum capacity every year,” said parks and recreation department program director Jeremiah Schroeder.
