GREENFIELD — Even as their former home was being put on the auction block Thursday, members of Greenfield’s Dale E. Kuhn American Legion Post 119 were working on the future.
The post’s former building at 275 Center St. went back to the bank Thursday with no bidders vying for the property at a sheriff’s sale.
In April, Greenfield Banking Co. filed for foreclosure against the post, and the bank obtained a final judgment in early July. The bank was owed more than $950,000 on its note.
There was no word Thursday on the bank’s plans for the building.
Across the street at 278 Center St. in the Center Street Shops, however, post members were watching a crew from Greenfield Power & Light run electrical service to what will be their new club.
