GREENFIELD — Nick Kleiman is not checking on the condition of his family’s corn crop.

After the hottest, driest June on record, Kleiman is afraid of what he’ll find.

“I don’t even want to go out and look at it because it’s so depressing,” Kleiman, 33, said.
