GREENFIELD — Hancock Surgical Group continues to grow after the departure of Ted and Cam Gabrielsen earlier this year.

The county’s only general surgery practice has been in a state of flux since the well-known Gabrielsens left the practice, but officials at Hancock Regional Hospital said the practice has increased stability in recent months as new surgeons gain footing in the community.

Dr. Jeff Heise, the only surgeon remaining from the Gabrielsens’ original practice, was joined in April by a contingent of four temporary surgeons. Two of those surgeons remain and have been joined by a new, permanent surgeon, Dr. Kevin McAree.
