ALL-HANCOCK COUNTY BASEBALL TEAM
The Daily Reporter 2012 All-Hancock County Baseball Team was voted on by the four county coaches — Chad Coughenour of Eastern Hancock, Travis Keesling of Greenfield-Central, Dustin Glant of Mt. Vernon and Shawn Lyons of New Palestine — Daily Reporter sports editor Brian Harmon and sportswriter Grant Freking. Each voter listed their top players 1-12. The No. 1 selection on each ballot received 12 votes; the No. 2 pick, 11 votes; and so on. The player receiving the most votes was named Player of the Year. The top 12 vote-getters were named to the All-Hancock County Team. Players outside the top 12 were Honorable Mention.

THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE
The coaches and media made their selection for Hancock County’s best baseball player, and voters in the Daily Reporter’s were of the same opinion. After over 6,000 votes were tallied, New Palestine senior pitcher Brian Page was the victor with 47 percent (3,045 votes). In accordance with the DR Player of the Year vote, Page’s teammate, Jacob Barnes, was second (37 percent; 2,398 votes). Eastern Hancock’s Hunter Brown was a distant third (5 percent; 342 votes) among the 12 total choices.
