INDIANAPOLIS — The Indiana Department of Transportation will again close alternating lanes of Interstate 70 between Post Road and Mt. Comfort Road during overnight hours to finalize construction operations.
Beginning at 9 p.m., workers will saw cut and seal the concrete pavement between mile markers 91.0 and 97.1. All three lanes - both eastbound and westbound - will be impacted one at a time by short-term closures at work sites. Barrels and lighted message boards will direct traffic around individual closures. All restrictions should be lifted prior to 6 a.m.
Overnight operations should continue Thursday night and possibly Friday night, weather permitting.
INDOT hopes to open all six lanes of this $32.3 million I-70 Major Moves project to traffic next week. Daytime lane restrictions may be necessary this weekend for crews to place pavement markings.
