Wallace Fairchild, 85 of New Castle, died Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014. He was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Monticello, Ky., to the late Fount and Minnie (Slagle) Fairchild.
Survivors include a son, Danny (Faye) Fairchild of New Castle; daughter, Joyce (Don) Lacy of New Castle; four grandchildren; four great- grandchildren; two great – stepgrandchildren; siblings, Ollie (Bill) Lee, Hershel (Donna) Fairchild and Dave Fairchild, all of New Castle; four sisters-in-law; a brother-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, of 65 years, Mary Irene Fairchild in 2012; brothers, Parker, Bob, Dewey, A.J. and Dean Fairchild; sisters, Onely Huffman, Gladys Nosler and Glenna Fairchild and two sisters-in-law.
Friends may call from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at the funeral home. Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Reverend Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland.
