Helen Marie Florea, 90, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice Unit in Greenfield. She was born May 13, 1922 in Henry County, Indiana and is the daughter of the late Dale and Carrie Marie (Beeson) Robson.
Helen was a charter member of the Shirley Friends Church. She had worked at Airway Store when it opened. She was past member of the Shirley Order of Eastern Star. She was a mother, homemaker, avid gardener and enjoyed taking care of people.
Surviving are a son, Robert Florea, of Shirley; six grandchildren, Edie Jo (Doug) Lawyer, of Markleville, Robert Florea, Jr., of Wilkinson, Danny Lee Florea, of Oxford, OH, Dawn Renee Florea, of Knightstown, Carrie Elizabeth (Chris) Underwood, of Greenfield, James T. “Jim” (Jenny) Florea, of Shirley; two step grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; two cousins, Beulah Jackson, of Rush County and Patsy Pitts, of Anderson.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thurman Joseph Florea, 2002; a son, Daniel Lee Florea, 2009; and a granddaughter, Mischelle Florea.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednsday, July 25, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2012, in the Condo & Son Funeral Home in Wilkinson with Pastor Gene Bennett and Jim Jackson officiating. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown.
