Cynthia Marie Kisenko
Cynthia Marie Kisenko, 48, a resident of New Palestine, passed away Sunday, April 29, 2012, at I.U. Health University Hospital, Indianapolis. She was born August 29, 1963, in Greenfield to the late Elmer and Lenora (Eakin) Pugh.
Cindy spent most of her life in Hancock County, but enjoyed travel. Dan and Cindy celebrated their 20th anniversary in Ireland. Cindy was devoted to her husband and two girls, which she considered her biggest joy. She was active with the girl’s activities and as partner to Dan. Be it religion, business, social, or parenting, as a couple they strived to share with each other. Cindy also enjoyed her extended family and many friends. As the youngest of 9 siblings, she never was sure if she was first generation or second as her nieces and nephews were closer to her age. That she was beloved by all was apparent and Cindy was blessed to have the time to share her last days with family before she passed so quickly from her illness. Cindy was a poet and writer. She loved expressing herself and her thoughts and has left her works for Dan and the girls.
She was a graduate of Greenfield Central High School, attended I.U.P.U.I. and was a graduate of Indiana Business College. Cynthia was a member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Greenfield and worked for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development from 1987 to present. She was a Program Director for two of her 25 years.
She is survived by her husband, Daniel Kisenko whom she married on July 14, 1990; daughters, Kayla E. Kisenko, Breanna E. Kisenko of all of New Palestine; sisters, Sharon (Dennis) Van Ornum of Floyd Knobs, Ind., Pamela (Richard) Stanley of Greenfield, Theresa Myers of New Albany, Ind., and Maureen (Ed) Hoar of Indianapolis; brothers, D. Michael (Loralee) Pugh of Eugene, Ore., Christopher (Judy) Pugh of Greene, Maine, Brian (Lorrie) Pugh of Columbia City, Ind.; sister-in-law, Beverly Pugh of New Albany, Ind.; mother-in-law, Eleanore Kisenko of New Palestine; brother-in-law, Peter Kisenko of Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews.
