People's Choice: Claudia Brown, Mt. Vernon. In online polling, Daily Reporter readers selected Brown as Hancock County’s best player. Brown received 40%, or 1,800 of the 4,523 total votes to edge G-C’s Alli Frazier (1,631; 36%). NP’s Julie Hilton had 10%, followed by Sammie McCoy (6%) and Katie Peters (5%) of Greenfield-Central. Seven other players received one percent or less of the vote.
The selection process: Daily Reporter sports editor Brian Harmon and sportswriter Grant Freking selected the All-County Team and Player of the Year after consulting with coaches.
