GREENFIELD
Carlos Banks, age 90, of Greenfield, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021. He was born in Jeff, Kentucky on August 5, 1931 to Wesley H. Banks and Bertha (Morgan) Banks. He graduated from Pine Mountain High School in Kentucky. He was a veteran of the United States Marines and served from 1949 to 1952. On April 3, 1953, Carlos married Faye Frazier.
He worked as a trim carpenter for 42 years before retiring in 1996. He was a member and deacon at Buck Creek Baptist Church in Cumberland for many years.
Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Faye Banks of Greenfield; Grandson, Jason Hayes (Alicia); great-grandchildren, Addisyn and Emma Hayes; brothers, Edgar Banks of New Palestine and Ray Banks of Richmond, KY; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Lappin; parents, Wesley and Bertha; brothers, Virgil and Roy Banks; and sisters, Beatrice Brown and Ruth Crittenden.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A funeral service will be held at the mortuary on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Randy Stone will be officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Greenfield.
