Keihin, companies conclude integration

GREENFIELD — Those heading down New Road may have noticed the “Keihin” signage on the large facility at 400 W. New Road has changed to “Hitachi Astemo.”

Hitachi Automotive Systems, Ltd. announced in a news release earlier this year that it along with Keihin Corporation and a couple other companies concluded management integration to form Hitachi Astemo, Ltd., a provider of mobility solutions to the automotive industry.

The plant in Greenfield makes automotive parts for Honda.

Greenfield woman named Outstanding Dietitian

GREENFIELD — The Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics announced Kate Capen as the 2021 Outstanding Dietitian of the Year during its annual meeting and awards gala last month.

Capen is CEO of Nutrition Services, Inc. while also committing a substantial amount of her time volunteering for dietetic professional organizations at the state and national levels. Submitted letters of recommendation noted that Capen “walks the walk” as it pertains to practice, ethics and supporting the mission statement of the Indiana Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Business donates $4,000 to soup kitchen

GREENFIELD — Leo’s Market and Eatery donated $4,000 to support Hancock County’s soup kitchen.

Kenneth Butler Memorial Soup Kitchen kicked off its Feed the Future campaign May 1, an effort to grow its financial bedrock to maintain its mission of providing hot meals to those in need. The soup kitchen currently holds an endowment of $75,000 through the Hancock County Community Foundation and aims to raise an additional $25,000 during the campaign, which ends Dec. 31, 2021.

Leo’s Market and Eatery, located at 2212 W. Main St., Greenfield, is one of four groups or families to donate dollar-for-dollar matching funds in advance of the Feed the Future campaign, to help make sure the organization gets to its $100,000 goal.
