NEW CASTLE — The following Eastern Hancock High School seniors recently earned the Governor’s Work Ethic Certificate (GWEC) through the New Castle Career Center: Cody Atkins, Ryan Back, Dylan Bates, Connor Bennett, Samuel Blocher, Valentina Brooks, Allison Bunnell, Collin Chandler, Harrison Collins, Seth Cooper, Alaina Davis, Jocelyn Duncan, Levi Durham, Nickolas Edwards, Lainey Effing, Bradyn Ellis, David Fields, Lyndsi Foster, Walter Friesen, Ellie Griesmeyer, Elise Huffman, Corina Jennings, Bailey Knoblock, Kyle Lacy, Annmarie Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Alexis Lewman, Kiah Linstrum, Loren Matlock, Victor Olivo, Daly Pelger, Jessica Potts, Lincoln Reighley, Benjamin Riggs, Kourtney Rottinghaus, Chase Settergren, Skyler Sexton, Skyla Smith, Alyson Spaulding, Tyla Spoon, Dane Spurling, Sydney Stanley, Jacob Steiner, Cassidy Stephenson, Kolten Synesael, Nathan Toloday, Ashton Trueblood, Tyler Vandervliet, Makenna Wainwright, Brandt Walden, Madelynn White, Paige Wickard, and Darrian Wisehart.

GWEC provides a pipeline of skilled high school graduates for today’s workforce. The “employability” skills recognized by GWEC have been vetted by Hoosier employers, community-based organizations and post-secondary education institutions and are designed to encourage students to meet the benchmarks that will assist them in their college or career goals.
