Body found in car at rest stop; foul play not suspected

HANCOCK COUNTY — Investigators do not expect foul play after finding a body in a vehicle Sunday evening at the eastbound Interstate 70 rest stop near Greenfield.

Deputies were called about 5:50 p.m. Sunday, June 14, for a welfare check of a person in a vehicle.

The identification of the person is not being released at this time, as investigators continue to confirm the identity of the occupant and notify family members.

Investigators have found no indications of foul play, said Maj. Robert Campbell of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department. The investigation is continuing, and an autopsy was scheduled for today (Monday, June 15).
