Library offers holiday photography workshop

NEW PALESTINE — Professional photographer Meagan Burris will share tips and tricks on how to take better holiday photos from 6 to 7 p.m., Nov. 19 at the Hancock County Public Library’s Sugar Creek Branch, 5731 W. U.S. Highway 52. Burris’ presentation includes not only family portraits but also snapshots that work well on Facebook and Instagram. Following the workshop, Burris will answer questions. Meagan Burris Photography studio, located in New Palestine, has ranked in the top 10 on the "Indy A-List." This free event is open to adults and teens. Purdue Extension offers grant-writing workshop

HANCOCK COUNTY — Purdue Extension – Hancock County will host a grant writing workshop from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Nov. 25 and Dec. 16 at the Purdue Extension Office, 802 Apple St., Greenfield. The cost for the two-day class is $175. Scholarships of $50 are available through State Farm to any 501(c)3 participant. Registration is due by Nov.18 at bit.ly/BGGWFall2019. Library accepting media and book donations

HANCOCK COUNTY — Hancock County Public Library, 900 W. McKenzie Road, will accept donations from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 18 for the next Friends of the Library used book sale. Gently used books, DVDs, music CDs and video game discs may be dropped off at the side delivery entrance (northeast corner). A volunteer will assist when someone rings the bell. Please request your tax receipt at the same time.

Register to run the Turkey Day 5k

GREENFIELD – Register now to participate in the Turkey Day 5k on November 28. The race kicks off from the Memorial Building (98 E.
