Christmas shopping program accepting applications

GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Police Department and Hancock County Sheriff’s Department are looking to connect with families in need for their annual Christmas shopping programs.

Both departments will take dozens of the county’s underprivileged kids shopping next month for Christmas presents. Each child receives about $300 to spend at Wal-Mart on clothing and toys.

Applications for the police department’s program, which is open to residents in Greenfield city limits, are available until Nov. 20 at the station at 116 S. State St., Greenfield.

The station is open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information is available by calling (317) 477-4410.

Applications for the sheriff’s department’s program, which is open to all county residents, are available until Nov. 21 at the sheriff’s department administration office. The office is open Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. More information is available by calling (317) 477-1199.
